There were shuttle-bus's all the time. They were doing round-trips to the most common points of Istanbul's both sides ( free ). (Asian and European). I arrived the party place at almost 09:00 AM earyly in the morning and in the mean time, i met other BRONX members are landing too... ______________________________________________________________________________ "Party Place" ______________________________________________________________________________ The sponsors of the party was "Technology Channel" & "University of Maltepe". They are also both "co-orp" companies. University arranged a great party place in the university cafeteria. It was on the last floor and there were beautiful view from the balcony. Also,at downstairs , there were a theatre saloon with a giant video projection. My favourite one was the "cafeteria" since it was online 24h with a super-kool owner who loves to play "winning 11" on PS2! There were also free "lanch" and "dinner" at university's dinning hall. ______________________________________________________________________________ "First Day" ______________________________________________________________________________ We steped out many stairs and finaly arrived the main hall. It was like a long coridor and both sides of the corridor, there were tables and the end of it, there was a big "LCD" screen. Maybe this was the most "well-prepared" and the most "well-orginized" one. We settled very quickly . Thanx for the network guy who gived us links + cables. I had brought my Commodore 64 + 1541 + A1084S and Notebook. Also mrr/bronx had brought his notebook and creative sound system.We connected lovely C64's audio output to 5+1 sound system . It was awesome!! The party area was shaken by the charming sound of SID! It was almost 11:00 AM and people were still coming & setting up their stuffs First scener I saw at the party was "eirik/resident". I've also seen nightlord of glance & skate of glance after him.The damn kool thing about party is,there were mostly C64's all arround da party. It was like "C64 ONLY" party ;) C64 crew "crescent" was there and they were setting up their equipment. It was kool to see "impetigo/crescenet" after 2 years... i saw most of the "resident" people at the end of the room. Organizers were hydrogen/glance , datura/glance, endo/glance, skate/glance and spritus/resident. They were in a hurry all the time . At 11:30 PM , we went to downstairs, "screening room" to watch "opening ceremony". Organizers did small welcome talk and introduction about the party. At 12:00 PM, they announced the lanch-time at dinning hall ( free ). I did not go to eat coz i'd already smacked my sandwich before the announce!. At 13:00 PM , there was a kool seminar from "D4D" company which is related to making online / multi-player community games . Mean time, technology tv was broadcasting everything live on tv. After that,there was another seminar which is related to computer game graphics from "ogan kandemiroglu" ( who is little brother of celal kandermiroglu ; "x-out" / "turricane" on amiga ) After seminars , the most waited moment arrived "classic game compo" i applied for "Emlyn Huges Int. Soccer" on C64 and "Kick Off" on Amiga 500. The shit is, nightlord/glance beated me in the first round on "ehis". Due to my collapse, i did not care of the rest of the compo :) It was almost middle of the day, other "bronx" people arrived to party. Like : gart , astron , micro , hyper.We watched many lovely C64 demoz with kool sound output. Everytime i pump up the volume, wisdom/crescent were coming to see the stuff on C64 and goes like "hey vigo, you are not letting us to make our tunes for compo..." Then turbo/bronx arrives to party area. He joined "lotus" compo on Amiga 500. Unfortunately he sucked too... He was beaten by endo/glance... Also , another funny thing was the "kick off" compo... almost everybody forgetten how to play kick-off. All of the matches were ended 0-0. After "Extra-Time", ended same as 0-0 again. Finally, penalties.No one were remembering how to save the penalty. There were only one option : throw the penalty somewhere wide to goal-post... That shit happend to me. I lost the final game against hydrogen/glance. At the press-conference after the game,hydrogen/glace goes like "I'm so sorry, even i did not like the kick-off and i just joined it to complete the missing 8th person for the tournament and i won!... This is a shame" ha ha ahaha ha... ( i'll see you at the next party ) This year , there were many "non-scener" people at the party. Some of them arrived from out-side of the Istanbul like : Bursa, Ankara, Bilecik. Also many "scener-wanna be" young bloods were in the party too. I forgot to tell that, "glance" people announced their groups existence at the first time in the party place. i did not know a group called glance since i arrive to party . It's a suprise info and suprise group of the 7d5 demoscene party this year. It is nice to see that some of the ex-bronx'ers and (not sure but maybe ex) civitas' are gathering together to build very high quality demo group on C64. We had taken many photos,talked a lot till the 02:00 AM. It was so kool to ask for sandwich and coca-cola all the time. There were very kool service at party buffet. ______________________________________________________________________________ "Second and The Last Day" ______________________________________________________________________________ turbo/bronx was trying to finish his pixel stuff while natilius/bronx is setting up the environment for J2ME development on my notebook. micro/bronx was back to party place with lots a fruits and drinks . Mean time, technology channel was broadcasting-live on tv too. We were all celebrities now :) I've been blacked-out arround 03:00 AM and I woke up with flash-light of a camera! I've been pimped while sleeping :) The paparazzi of the party called "bakkada"... I was very hungry. I was trying to find turbo . He was already up and was having his coffe . I checked natilius and micro , they were almost finishing our first J2ME entry for "wild compo". Also , turbo/bronx did a complete game gfx for a friend called "ragnor" who is coming to party from Bursa ( which is almost 6 hours away to istanbul ) The concept of the game was very kool . You should download it from the party web site. It was like 11:30 AM or so, they called for compos. We had a little panic to record the mobile phone to video-cam . Also, if we had a little more time, we could have added more effects etc. The nice thing is this was our first ever production on J2ME. There was a "mini-delay" like 2 hours before the compo starts. I think some of the cabling or connection error happend during the show . This delay was kool becoz some of the other sceners arrived to party place little late and they did not miss anything at all. There was another important thing for us ; crockett/Zombie Boys was there with us. The last time that i saw him was like 20 years ago. Back in the 1980's. He was the member of "The Metro Boys" on C64 . This was very shocky to him. He hasn't seen Commodore 64 maybe 10-15 years.He's got shocked when he saw "Second Reality" , "Deus ExMachina" , "Mist" , "Water" and "O.M.O.T". When the compo ended, we joined a live tv program called "Computer Scene" for the interviews.This was a great party that i've ever been to Turkey.Next time, maybe in 2006 or close, we hope to see all sceners from all arround the world.
