The first party 7d2 has been held in 2002. The name came from the hexadecimal equivalent of 2002, which is $7d2. The following years, this name convention became the unchanging (or +1, better told) part of these parties. What
is the "scene"?Scene is a community of coders (specific developers), graphic artists and musicians which try to make more with their computer, but gaming, commercial works, etc. Each platform (specified mostly to the brand of computers) like Atari, Amstrad, Sinclair, Commodore, Amiga, PC has its own 'scene'. These scenes are also divided with the location, but connected to each other with different medias and events (like forums, diskmags and parties). This scene never aims any commercial value, although various people can also do commercial works with their knowledge and/or capabilities. It's a platform of fun and competition. It is never 'a job', but a hobby. Who is a "scener"? All, who feel part of this community and like to produce such works. How will the 7d5 party be held? 7dx parties are the only activities in the local community. It is also the first local competition in our scene. It never aims to be a commercial organisation. Parallel to the size of our scene, they are small and old-school. It has never been charged an entry-fee for these and 7d5 follows this. This time, a bigger place has been organised to host all the participants. And what are the events? » Demo, 4kb demo, 256 byte, pixel-graphics, rendered graphics, animations, chip/mod musics, scripting, illustration, game are the various competition-sections. » Besides these, there will be "on-the-fly" competition, covering the same sections. » Any other fun activities/competitions » Conversations on "making of computer games" (there might be some surprise guests) » Classic-games competitions, where gaming is (and will be) never an important part of the whole party. » Getting an opportunity to use and experiment with various classical computers (like Atari 1040ST, Commodore 64, Commodore 128, Amiga 500, Amiga 600, Amiga 1200 etc) » Getting in touch with various local sceners who have a good knowledge of their arts. » Presentation of demos which won international competitions on a bigscreen/projector. » Whole party will be broadcasting live on television (Technology Channel). Who are invited? All scene groups, people who like to know more about the scene and like/try to use their computers for more than gaming are welcome. Who are the organisators? In alphabetical order; Ahmet Moldibi, Emir Akaydin, Kursad Karamahmutoglu, Metehan Alter and Semseddin Moldibi are the organizers of 7D5 Demoscene Party. We are open to ideas and help of people (and others). Those who like to sponsor this event can get in touch with the organizers trough our e-mail organization@7dx-party.org. Who are the sponsors?
There was no sponsor at 7D2, 7D3 and 7D4 parties. For the first time, Technology Channel became the sponsor of 7DX Parties. We are really thankful to them for their all sponsorship to our party and other supports to the turkish computer scene. |
